Season 11 of the long-running BBC series Doctor Who will premiere on Sunday 7th October 2018 on BBC America. The show features Jodie Whittaker as the newest (13th) Doctor and the first woman to play the role.
The producers just released this short clip to make an emphatic point about the newest Doctor and that it’s time to break more glass ceilings -

BBC Director-General Tony Hall said that Whittaker would receive pay equal to outgoing Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi, which comes between £200,000 ($282,726) and £249,999 ($353,406) per episode. Hall also promised to make efforts to end the pay gap by 2020.
“It’s an incredibly important time and the notion [of equal pay] should be supported,” Whittaker told Digital Spy at the recent National Television Awards.

x xYouTube VideoOn the new Sunday timing of the show, Chris Chibnall, the Showrunner said:
“New Doctor, new home! Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor is about to burst into Sunday nights — and make the end of the weekend so much more exciting. Get everybody’s homework done, sort out your Monday clothes, then grab some special Sunday night popcorn, and settle down with all of the family for Sunday night adventures across space and time. (Also, move the sofa away from the wall so parents can hide behind it during the scary bits). The Thirteenth Doctor is falling from the sky and it’s going to be a blast.”
In an event billed as “The 13 Days of Doctor Who,” BCC America will air every episode from the past 10 seasons, starting at 6 a.m. ET, Sept. 25. The marathon will conclude on Sunday, October 7 with the premiere of the first episode — “The Woman Who Fell to Earth”. See the introduction to “The 13 Days of Doctor Who” below; apparently, the episodes will be not be shown in chronological order, so some of us will need to read up about the show to keep pace.

Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme produced by the BBC since 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "the Doctor", an extraterrestrial being, to all appearances human, from the planet Gallifrey. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. Accompanied by a number of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes, while working to save civilisations and help people in need.

— Variety (@Variety) July 21, 2018I personally have not followed the series; others here surely have more to say about the show.
Yes, this looks like an exciting series to binge-watch during the two weeks preceding the series premiere, but remember that we also have work to do for November, to restore justice, equality and sanity to our world. Let’s keep fighting, GOTV and win the House and the Senate.
